The Designated Employer Representative (DER) plays a critical role in drug and alcohol testing programs and maintaining workplace safety.

Through successful completion of this examination, the DER demonstrates the professional knowledge required to (1) qualify the individual as a DER under U.S. Department of Transportation rule 49 CFR Part 40 and (2) meet the requirements for the National Drug and Alcohol Screening Association’s (NDASA) DER certification.

As an NDASA Certified Designated Employer Representative (C-DER), you will receive the following benefits:

  • Certification Certificate – After passing the exam, you will receive an email with your certificate. You must be logged into the NDASA University system to view and print this document. Your certificate is valid for two years.
